introducing ‘at the table with'…’

What is your strategy when it comes to building your inventory?

I'm a pretty private person, but what I should probably share is that I have a full-time job, a husband, and 3 daughters that play double sports. Life is very busy, but I am always driving my girls to/from practices and games. I often shop at thrift stores, antique malls, and estate sales while they are at practices or in-between games. I then bring my items home to my office and inventory them, clean them, and divide them into booth vs. online sales.

What do you love most about what you do?

I feel very lucky to have found this as my passion. I love every single part of it (well, minus the cleaning, tagging, and reconciling my tags vs. inventory tracking). Of course the shopping is fun, but I consider staging my booth as therapy. I often put on a pod-cast or music and just clear my mind for a bit (and when I say a bit - it's easily 15-20 hours each month to put together my two booths). Lastly, meeting the people is so amazing! I have met so many kind customers and fellow vendors! It's such a fun community!

Anything exciting planned for 2024?

No big/different plans for 2024 at this time. I am trying to post online sales at least 2x a month on-top of my booth sales. Life is busy - so I have to work around crazy schedules! It's not perfect, but it will do for now. One day in the far future, I plan to make this my full time job!

Featuring edna Mae vintage

We are thrilled to introduce you to our new monthly guest residency titled "At the Table With". At our Open House weekend each month, we'll be bringing in a different guest to "pop-up" at our big, burl wood table giving you more amazingness to shop while also allowing us to highlight other hustlers out there you should know!

To kick things off, we're super excited to be hosting Christy of Edna Mae Vintage this Thursday-Saturday. Here's a little about Christy!

How did you get into vintage resale?

My family has always been in the vintage market starting with my mom owning and loving lots of vintage pieces. My first job was working at my aunt's shop that sold a lot of treasures and vintage items. And finally, my grandpa was always going to auctions to buy cool items and then holding garage sales to make some extra money. A few years ago, I started going to estate sales and learned early that I had a passion for finding unique vintage items that could look modern in today's home. I began purchasing items (both big and small) and posted them on FBMP. I started to gain a "following" and had several repeat customers- including both Megan and Sarah! Megan and Sarah invited me to do a pop-up and I remember being nervous as could be as I had never done anything that big! It was such a fun event and I was encouraged to continue making this my passion. I made some connections at the pop-up, which drove me to land in a booth as well as create a LLC and begin selling on Instagram as well as FBMP!

Tell us a little about your business and what makes you different or unique?

I think what makes me unique or different is my style of what I refer to as "modern vintage." I like to find pieces that are unique, but that will work in today's modern home. I love to mix and match styles and also love to highlight how you can style items by displaying them in my booth or by writing a description for my online sales.
